Blog #3 Outcome: Metaphors

When I wake up I'm feelin' something that I never have felt before
Its that something that gets to me, as if the rhythm of your hearts home
Inspired by melodies that take me places I'd never thought I'd go
We find hope in what we believe as if there's reason in make believe

Take me somewhere, where its all green
Where the rivers meet and our hearts collide
Pouring words sheet by sheet, there's meaning in all the sighs
No goodbyes when were moving faster than what we can comprehend
As if its seen in the movies, its all just a dream, when life passes by

Life is the most beautiful thing that we can ever have to hold
Sing it loud as if there's no one watching and you're the only one
Breaking the habit of broken hearts, justifies all the lies
Clear and vivid, I'll paint you a picture of a brand new faultless me

Take me somewhere, where life's surreal
A safe place for my thoughts to hide and it all happens in ideal timing
And the words come to mind as if its all defined
With a pen and paper, it comes from inside
And my words never grow old and die (x2)

Your heart beats in depth next to mine
Pure enough to bring me back
Passionately driven to make this more

With my writing I take my thoughts and bring them to life. I love being able to make music that comes from the soul and truly the only way to do so is with the different uses of rhetoric devices. In particular, metaphors mostly help my writing come to life. With metaphors, I can literally take any boring thought of choice and make it full of life; which is my goal anyways. Music is one of the only ways I can express myself with words. Once sounds are intertwined with such beautiful words, they're cohesively one. Together, these two factors make music a possible metaphorical utopia.

Blog #2 Outcome #1

During this blog, I will be talking about Coldplay's album review of Mylo Xyloto interpreting the text put forth in this review...

During the review the writer talks of how of Coldplay's new album is, "A very pop album. A very, very pop album." The writer describes the hits on Coldplay's new album, "Played to death."

Most of the review talks about how this is just another album that had been expected to be produced for the pop scene. The writer talks as if its a well made album with full of different sounds that are all incorporated together cohesively. "Once you get over the initial pop shock, the album is great."

For the audience, the writer's word usage conveys a simple thought that this album isn't very good. At the same time though, the writer talks of this album as a love-hate relationship stating that even though this might a drawn out cliche album; at the same time, the dynamics of each hit song is great. The writer wants the listeners of Mylo Xyloto to understand what music is really about and know that this album was merely created as an "extra" album. "This album is certainly more glitz and glamor than they have ever previously showcased, and that is not a bad thing with the current declining quality of pop music." This quotation is trying to get across one simple thought, that this is just ANOTHER album from Coldplay. Possibly implying that Coldplay is just after fame and money with their new album being distributed to the public; nothing new.

Roll Model #1 Outcome: #3

From beginning to end, Meridian streets Sensu's restaurant description is all show. Time and time again I find myself lost in the text as if I'm truly attending this restaurant experiencing its luxuries. One could conclude with this short description of detail that, "You've been transported to another, hipper dimension."

Walking through the open doors, you find yourself not just at a restaurant, but at a sanctuary of restlessness. Entering Sensu's palace, dumbfounded; "Shallow pools dappled with rose petals greet you in the foyer with a gaggle of fashionably distracted hostesses that stand ready to escort you up a curvaceous staircase with all the dramatic buildup of the best amusement-park rides."

With this vivid, colorful description of diction and language Sensu's review astounds reader's with such relatively of what is presented through the doors. This style of writing easily catches the reader's attention right off the bat. With such word usage it makes imagery very possible to imagine. The writer conveys simple thoughts into a "spiced up" version of marketing with his picture perfect summarizing.

I find myself trying to incorporate much more diction, but with realistic meaning so one can further understand the true meaning of whatever the case may be with imagery. From my point of view, without imagery; I become full of boredom and uninterested with the lack of word usage especially when one repeats the same thought throughout the whole piece.
